Big Things Coming

Just glancing at the website the past few weeks, it may not appear that much has really happened. But behind the scenes, MeadMakr is making headway towards our stated goals to provide you the best meadmaking content.

First, I have partnered with a friend to bring something new to the meadmaking community, a podcast. We are targeting a March 2 launch, only a week away! We’ll be posting bi-weekly to start (that’s every 2 weeks), and have at least four episodes planned before we branch off into industry and expert interviews. This has actually taken the majority of our time, so while you don’t see updates on the website, we have been recording audio snippets to piece the podcast episodes together. If you have any specific topics you’d like covered, let us know by contacting us directly through the website or reach out to us on twitter. In the meantime, check out our cover art below!

Next, we have finished Part II of the MeadMakr Guide, highlighting basic meadmaking equipment. We are diligently working on putting together Part III: The Basic Recipe, that will discuss the potential trade-offs when designing a traditional mead recipe.

You may have noticed that we provided many links for purchasing items on Amazon throughout the MeadMakr Guide. If you do purchase any items through these Amazon links, MeadMakr.com will receive a portion of the proceeds as affiliate advertising, and we are grateful for any and all of these purchases. Proceeds will go towards improving the site experience and providing better content to you.

Lastly, we have booked our tickets and are lined up to volunteer at the Mazer Cup, the world’s largest mead only competition. Held outside of Boulder, CO, it is a bit of a jaunt for us east-coasters, but it will be well worth the trip. We hope to use the opportunity to network with many of the other faces in the meadmaking community, and will be taking our microphones to hopefully get some podcasting audio out of the trip.

So keep checking back in the coming months, or follow us on twitter for the latest information. Thanks for reading!
